My name is Cagin (pronounced "cha-uhn"). I am a PhD candidate in Decision Sciences at Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, where I am advised by Prof. David B. Brown.
My research mainly focuses on sequential decision problems under uncertainty and data-driven decision-making. Specifically, I use stochastic modeling and techniques from optimization, applied probability and statistics to develop and analyze solution methods and algorithms for challenging operational problems. I am particularly interested in consumer search and, more broadly, applications related to sequential search.
Prior to Duke, I received my BS and MS degrees in Industrial Engineering from Sabanci University and Bilkent University, respectively.
